Sylacauga to honor Coach Earl Lewis at Community Pep Rally and Track Dedication

SYLACAUGA, Ala. - The Sylacauga community will come together Tuesday evening to honor longtime coach and community leader Earl Lewis before kicking off the new school year with the Sylacauga Aggies Community Pep Rally. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, at Legion Stadium, where the track will officially be dedicated in honor of Coach Lewis. Reverend Billy Coleman and members of the Lewis family will serve as guest speakers during the dedication ceremony. Coach Lewis dedicated his career to Sylacauga High School and spent his life giving back to the City of Sylacauga. The dedication will provide an opportunity for former athletes, students, friends and community members to celebrate his impact and recognize a legacy that extends far beyond athletics. Members of the Sylacauga S Club Alumni are encouraged to attend and help represent the generations of Aggies whose lives were impacted by Coach Lewis. Immediately following the dedication ceremony, the Sylacauga Aggies Community Pep Rally will begin at Legion Stadium. The community is invited to attend both events and help celebrate Coach Lewis before showing its support for the Aggies ahead of the upcoming season.
